Early LAP (E-LAP) is a criterion-referenced assessment instrument designed to assess the development of infants and toddlers. E-LAP provides a systematic method for observing children from birth to 36-months across six domains of development. A hierarchy of developmental skills in each domain is arranged according to chronological age categories. The results can be used to generate a complete picture of a child’s developmental progress. This software assists early childhood professionals in gathering and analyzing data for both individuals and groups of children and is an excellent tool for Early Head Start programs and effective for communicating and collaborating with parents about children's progress.
The Early LAP contains a hierarchy of 414 developmental skills arranged in chronological sequence in six domains of development:
- Gross Motor
- Fine Motor
- Cognition
- Language
- Self-help
- Social/Emotional
