Building Understanding: The Basics
HighReach Curriculum Two-Day Training
A two-day session focused on bringing HighReach programs to life in your setting is recommended for anyone implementing the HighReach curricula. During this session, participants are immersed in the sound research and theory that build an active approach to early learning. An understanding of the framework of our curricula will empower teachers to implement effectively and intentionally. Specific strategies covered help teachers infuse the curricula into their daily routines, enabling them to engage children in learning that is interesting, hands-on, and fun! The Two-Day Curriculum Training includes:
- An overview of philosophy, approach, and component parts of curriculum.
- Implementation and lesson planning strategies.
- Techniques to link curriculum with assessment.
HighReach Curriculum One-Day Training
This option is offered as an overview, refresher, or update to the components of the curriculum. The session may be tailored to the needs of your group or may include any two of the three topics listed above.
LAP-3 and E-LAP Training
This session guides you through administration, scoring, and interpretation of results of the E-LAP or LAP-3 assessment tools. Learn consistent standards and procedures for administering the E-LAP or LAP-3 as well as how to correctly complete all information for accurate scoring procedures. Become familiar with interpreting assessment scores and using these scores to individualize children's learning. Training on the E-LAP and LAP-3 Computer Scoring Assistant is also included.
